Well, it appears South Florida dodged a big one, however, Cuba and the gulf coast do not appear so lucky.
Ike has turned to a major Category 4 storm. It will certainly weaken as it goes over Cuba, but then there is a lot of open water from which to regain strength.
There is certainly going to be some widespread devastation when this thing rolls through.
